Accomplishments
The Moreno Valley Cultural Arts Foundation/Granite Guild is proud of what it has accomplished. Considering that we have been a grass-roots non-profit with limited funding, we are rich in resourcefulness and determination. Where others may fear to tread, we have ventured forward with confidence and a commitment to make a part of the world a better place than when we found it. We are resolute to evolve as a catalyst for positive change through promoting the arts as a universal language. MVCAF/Granite Guild will continue to embrace public service and bridging barriers to bring communities together.
It is important to note that the Moreno Valley Cultural Arts Foundation is dedicated to improving the quality of life within the City. As such, MVCAF seeks opportunities to make a difference in the lives of others in our community. MVCAF goes beyond arts programming and goes the extra step to have a greater impact. The Empty Bowl Project is a perfect example where we sought the chance to shed light on another aspect of homelessness.
MVCAF was able to create this documentary in cooperation with the MVUSD Eagle Pro Productions and engage several artists to artwork associated with the Project. The resulting auctions provided $3000 of which 100% was then donated to the MV Salvation Army for the express purpose of assisting local homeless families.
MVCAF is continually conducting food, clothing, toy drives along with other similar activities to assist in making the lives of others in our community better.MVCAF was able to create this documentary in cooperation with the MVUSD Eagle Pro Productions and engage several artists to artwork associated with the Project. Our Boundaries BashFest, held in September 2016 helped redefine the perception of disabilities. The event, funded by the National Endowment for the Arts, the MV Unified School District, Edison International, IEHP, EMWD, Bridge Investments, Waste Management and the MV Rotary, brought disabled artists and performers together in a combination exhibition, panel discussion and performance.
